There is nothing like getting back to earthy, hands on printing. Lino carving gives me creative freedom. The soft modern style lino is so tactile it’s like carving cheese. I love the way even the best well planned design has to be fluid. You can have the clearest design vision, but working in reverse always throws up surprises and you never know how a design will look until you make the first print. So many variations can then derive with alterations of pattern rotation and colour.
